Wireless Adapter
Too often, valuable field data is trapped in intelligent HART® devices that are wired to analog-only legacy control systems.
AirSprite’s Wireless Adapter sets free this data to dramatically improve plant operations. An Adapter can connect anywhere on a 4-20 mA loop to immediately retrofit existing HART devices for wireless transmission of intelligent data to critical plant and enterprise applications, such as plant asset management (PAM), process monitoring, plant historians, energy management and environmental compliance monitoring.
AirSprite’s Wireless Adapter is also ready to quickly enable new wireless measurement points. An Adapter connected to any HART instrument – or analog-only 4-20 mA instrument – and 24V field power quickly creates a new wireless measurement point. By eliminating the need to run wire all the way back to your control system, you dramatically cut installation costs, effort, and time.
Key features include:
- Standards compliance: Built for compliance with the WirelessHART standard to facilitate multi-vendor installations and ensure high levels of security and reliability.
- Reliable: Rugged packaging design for withstanding challenging field conditions combined with a robust wireless mesh protocol for high network reliability ensure the highest levels of system reliability.
- Secure: Multiple layers of standards-compliant and AirSprite features meet the security needs of the most demanding industrial installations.
- Hybrid power: Powers off the loop and a battery to achieve both high performance data transfers and long battery life.
- Ease of Use: A rich set of infrastructure capabilities available when used with AirSprite’s Wireless Gateway, including built-in OPC® support, over the air programming updates, and Web-based management, deliver outstanding ease of use for all types of users, ranging from system administrators to maintenance staff to operators.
- Universal retrofits: Single adapter maximizes application options, enabling wireless retrofitting of either HART devices or analog-only 4-20 mA devices, to deliver continuous access to previously stranded HART data or the ability to add new wireless measurement points.
- Multiple measurement points: Support for HART multi-drop configurations enables up to six HART devices per adapter to lower costs when adding new measurement points.
AirSprite’s Adapter is part of AirSprite’s wireless, standards-compliant infrastructure, which includes Gateway and Router products, all based on IEEE 802.15.4 wireless mesh sensor networking. The infrastructure will be compliant with two key emerging wireless standards, WirelessHART™ and ISA100, and will eliminate the cost and risks associated with purchasing proprietary wireless systems and instrumentation from a single vendor.
